The directory where default files live is /etc/defaults and not
/etc/default.

Below /etc/defaults there should be a directory structure from where
postinstall scripts copy the default files. At least this is how other
packages use the /etc/defaults hierarchy.

So in your case sgreprc would live under /etc/defaults/etc/sgreprc.
