md5sum bug

while transferring files from my win95 box to my linux box, i used md5sum
from rh6 and md5sum from usertools.exe downloaded from a cygnus mirror.

i noticed that all my files failed the md5 check because linux was
producing different md5 sums for the same file!

bad md5 implementation somewhere?
