Cygwin uses the UNIX convention of naming libraries libabc.a, so you'd
do something like this:

gcc xxxxxx.c -L ./lib -labc

or

gcc xxxxxx.c lib/libabc.a

or

gcc xxxxxx.c lib/abc.lib
