Nope.

I umounted the offending directories, then remounted them so they're now
binary.  I then wiped the configure directory and unpacked the source
archive again.  Configure still wasn't happy.  Sh was failing
periodically saying it couldn't find a dll.

I'll post the error messages next time I see them.

On the plus side it did eventually (after five or so more tries) finally
get to the config.cache write before dying, so the next iteration it got
further.  Two more ./configures did it.  (Actually, only 1, because I
didn't realize that the script had bombed at the last step, so invoking
"make all" ran the configure script again with nearly everything cached,
then it continued as if nothing was wrong.

I only kept trying because I realized that it was inconsistant in where
it would crash.

Go fig.

At any rate, I finally got the package built.  Next time I get a chance
to look at this, I'll paste in the bomb message.
