problems with setup.exe

I've used cygwin for years, but setup.exe recently fails for me on
Windows 2000 (where it used to work). Here is the setup.log.full file:

2001/03/23 10:24:31 Starting cygwin install
Current Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\case\Desktop
source: network install
Selected local directory: C:\Documents and Settings\case\Desktop
root: C:\cygwin binary user
net: IE5
get_url_to_string http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/mirrors.lst
get_url_to_string failed!
net: IE5
2001/03/23 10:25:08 Ending cygwin install

This is the version of setup.exe downloaded today. I have IE5 installed.
The FAQ mentions a problem like this (not being able to download the
mirrors.lst), and suggests "use a different mirror". But there is no place
prior to this in setup.exe where one can choose a mirror.

The mail archives show a similar problem last August
<http://sources.redhat.com/ml/cygwin/2000-08/msg01111.html>,
but there IE5 was not installed. Selecting either the "direct connection"
button, or the "ftp proxy" button results in the same
"get_url_to_string failed!" message.

Of course it's possible that networking on my machine is somehow hosed,
although no other symptoms of problems exist. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated!

(I really like cygwin and use it all the time....)

..regards....dac
