I have a feeling either your /etc/passwd is not up to date on your work machine (i.e., you forgot to do "mkpasswd -d -u adefaria >> /etc/passwd"), or you log in as a different user than the one that owns the file (e.g., you log in as a local user, and the file is owned by the domain user [possibly with the same name]).

My uid is correct:


adefaria:ls -ln file
