Eventually the work I'm doing will go to a Linux box. Developing on a Windoz
box has it's advantages however. I like not having to switch back and forth
to separate systems to do things I still do on Windows like e-mail, web
browsing. I've never really had the time to figure out how to make vim and
emacs do the things I can do with simple text programs like Textpad. One
needs 1/2 a life-time just to learn what all the command line parameters
are. Well ... I exaggerate a little. Some of the more user interface
intensive under Linux are still not quite up to pare with the Windows's
apps. But you just can't beat the remote support capabilities of a *NIX box,
not to mention the speed and reliability. Not every application needs to
have some slick user interface. And the system registry ... well need I say
more? Oh how I miss the days of the .ini file.

Anyway ... that's my slightly off-topic 2 cents ... FWIW.
