NTFS links

Cygwin includes quite a number of symlinks. I personally have changed a number of the cygwin-style symlinks to windows-style ones to fix (as has been mentioned recently) the problem that cygwin-style symlinks don't work from cmd

Would it be possible to automagically change all the cygwin-style symlinks to windows-style ones? is there anything I should watch for if I attempted such a thing?
