Problem Installing cygwin

While installing cygwin,I came across a similar installation error as
the one in the mailing list
http://sourceware.org/cgi-bin/search.cgi?wm=wrd&form=extended&m=all&s=D&ul=%2Fml%2Fcygwin%2F%25&q=%2Fusr%2Fbin%2Finstall%3A%20cannot%20create%20directory%20%60%2Fcygdrive%2Fh%27%3A%20No%20such%20file%20or%20directo

I followed the thread but it did not give details of how it was
resolved.it just mentioned that some startup script was wrong and had
to be corrected.

So here is the problem(which is similar to the one in the above link)

My system configs:
OS:Windows XP

After I download and install cygwin I get the following
"text" when I start cygwin:
mkdir: cannot create directory `/cygdrive/h': No such
file or directory
Copying skeleton files.
These files are for the user to personalise
their cygwin experience.

These will never be overwritten.

/usr/bin/install: creating directory `/cygdrive'
/usr/bin/install: cannot create directory
`/cygdrive/h': No such file or directo
ry

/usr/bin/install: cannot create directory

bash: cd: /cygdrive/h: No such file or directory
Your group name is currently "mkgroup_l_d". This
indicates that not
all domain users and groups are listed in the
/etc/passwd and
/etc/group files.
See the man pages for mkpasswd and mkgroup then, for
example, run
mkpasswd -l -d > /etc/passwd
mkgroup -l -d > /etc/group

This message is only displayed once (unless you
recreate /etc/group)
and can be safely ignored.
cp: cannot create regular file
`/cygdrive/h/group.mkgroup_l_d': No such file or
directory

I'm not sure what or why it's trying to do with an h:
drive. I have a local c and d drive.

I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know what script has
to be changed to get the tool running.I have a simulation tool that
has to be setup using cygwin and a project deadline to be met in a
month......
