Ok.  I'd previously tried just taking that line out of /etc/group
altogether.  Now I'll add it back in, as you suggested:

  >$ cat /etc/group
  >SYSTEM:S-1-5-18:18:
  >None:S-1-5-21-473916646-3257906905-3362627345-513:513:
  >Administrators:S-1-5-32-544:544:
  >Backup Operators:S-1-5-32-551:551:
  >Guests:S-1-5-32-546:546:

  >Remote Desktop Users:S-1-5-32-555:555:

But cron-config still stalls out in the same place.

It is very dark & after 2000.  If you continue, you are likely to be eaten by a bleen.
